REPORT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media signs

Well, there are so many social media platforms available with each being different from other, making it more difficult to choose the favorite one.

As I am using Facebook, instagram, Google+, snap chat, vine, YouTube, LinkedIn, but if I have have to choose one of them, I’ll choose “Facebook”

There are many reasons for choosing this medium of social platform, of which few are mentioned below;

  • Facebook lets you connect to different people from anywhere in the world. People everywhere these days are familiar with Facebook. This gives you the opportunity to learn more about the culture, values, customs, and traditions of other countries.
  • Facebook is the most convenient tool for finding old buddies and keeping friendships alive.
  • The site has good privacy settings, allowing you to choose your desired level of privacy.
  • Whatever you can do on facebook.com you can do from your mobile phone Facebook app, on the go. Most new smart phones come with Facebook app. So you can update status, comment and do lot things even from your mobile phone.
  • The newsfeed plays a very important role in getting the latest information. Facebook fan pages and users are constantly sharing articles, photos, and videos.
  • Besides the games, there are thousands of applications, quizzes, etc. available.

So it is not wrong to say, that for me “Facebook” is complete package, whether it’s networking or source of entertainment.

The way I manage my Facebook account do depicts somehow my personality. As I have set particular criteria for like any thing which appears on my news-feed.

How it can be used in modern social media marketing?

Facebook-business-page1

In social media marketing it can be used as product promotional website as well, where one can upload all the pictures and videos targeting the market.

Also it can serve as one best social marketing tool for the “niche markets” as well , to target specific group of people.

A part from promotional activities, various campaigns our quizzes can be done as well, in order to engage more customer interest.

Describe how it can be used in social media marketing, indicating the types of campaign it is most suitable for

Good marketing campaigns via social media can prove to be a game changer, if launched and handled strategically.

Facebook is a very effective social media platform to market your product. Its is kind or readymade market in which you just have to pitch in your product and your product will do the rest.

Precisely I’ll be using following campaigns on Facebook, in order to market my product.

  • Making a Page
  • Spreading that page all over to other pages
  • Invite my friend of friends to like that page

Real life example of this social media in action in a current or recent social media marketing campaign.

Cadburys Dairy Milk

Cadbury Dairy Milk:

When approaching their 1 millionth like, Cadbury came up with an innovative way to celebrate, thank their fans and boost engagement all at the same time. They built a giant ‘thumbs up’ out of 1 million pieces of chocolate, whilst allowing fans to watch the action and send in their suggestions.

The campaign succeeded in getting over 350,000 fans talking about Cadbury and helped them to attract a further 40,000 new fans during the two day build.

Red Bull FB page

Red Bull:

The energy drink company has a very strong link with extreme sports. It sponsors high profile events such as last year’s Red Bull Stratos space jump and the Red Bull air races, as well as sponsoring its own Formula 1 and football (soccer) teams.

On their Facebook Page, the company devotes very little attention to the product itself and instead focuses on the lifestyle they want to be associated with. The brand’s Page is full of photos and videos of high octane sporting events, all sponsored by Red Bull. The strategy is really delivering results; according toSocialbakers, they are the second most popular brand on Facebook with almost 40 million fans.

SteelMasters1

SteelMaster Buildings:

Beans, chocolate and Red Bull are fairly obvious choices, so for number 5 we went for something a bit different to show how social media marketing can work for (almost) any business.

SteelMaster Buildings build corrugated steel structures and use Facebook to share their innovative designs. They also encourage customers to share their own photos and are currently running a photo competition, which is driving impressive levels of engagement amongst their 13,000 followers.

State Bi Co

State Bicycle Company:

In order to increase levels of engagement on their Facebook Page and create a bit of buzz about their products and events, State Bicycle Company from Phoenix ran a series of highly targeted Facebook ads, focusing on specific citites in the US. Users were encouraged to ‘like’ the Facebook Page to gain sneak previews of new bikes and partake in competitions.

“Facebook has been critical, and has allowed State Bicycle Company to have an open dialogue with our customers and potential customers.” Medhi Farsi, CEO

The result of this campaign was $500,000 from sales tracked through to the company’s website. Furthermore, they increased their Facebook fan base 10-fold in just a year.

Users may subscribe to other users’ tweets—this is known as “following” and subscribers are known as “followers”or “tweeps”, a portmanteau of Twitter and peeps.Individual tweets can be forwarded by other users to their own feed, a process known as a “retweet”. Users can also “like” (formerly “favorite”) individual tweets.
